It will be wolves next...

I live next to Lincoln Park in Seattle, WA and normally coyotes are not in the park, but at least one was spotted. Recently my neighbor said she was afraid to walk in the park as she was afraid of being attacked by the coyote. I wonder if they do attack adults. I was surprised that the coyote could even attempt to take the child away. I bet those parents have nightmares for a while to come.

Of course they will. We live in a rural area, one day I was hauling hay (big 2000 lb, bales of grass) with a pickup and trailer. While I was waiting in our field probably 20 yards from our house, there was a coyote. I got out of my pickup, talked to it and got within 15 ft. Realized duh...this is exactly what he wants ...for me to get close and eat me! Actually they are tamed rather easily, like some in Yellowstone that will practically eat out of your hands.

We have wolves now, big ones, and they of course love lamb chops, so we are on the watch all the time. One day we were on our 4 wheelers, going into the hills to check sheep etc, and we had seen signs of wolves, and the herders had seen them. So as we are going, there are a bunch of little kids on 4wheelers (4yrs - 8yrs) riding around. Being good neighbors, we stopped and told their parents to watch the kids, because of the wolves. They said, no, they aren't around here...we took them up the road about 1/2 mile and showed them tracks. They packed up and were gone by the time we were back to their campsite!

Laughing as I imagine that moving that quickly from the site. You were definitely good neighbors that day! Do you really think that coyotes would attack someone as big as us? I guess it would depend on how hungary they are, bottom line.
